1. The Florida Gators, fresh off an SEC Tournament title, continued their run through the NCAA baseball playoffs by dispatching Vanderbilt 6-4 at the 2011 College World Series. With the win, the Gators reserved their spot in the CWS final series. Florida rode the arms of Alex Panteliodis and Austin Maddox to overcome the Commodores and their star pitcher Sonny Gray. Tonight’s game could determine who Florida faces in the final series if SEC mate South Carolina can take out the #1 seeded Virginia Cavaliers for the second consecutive time. If UVA wins, however, the Wahoos and Gamecocks will play a “win or go home” game tomorrow to decide who moves forward to play for the national championship.
